nown for his ability to straddle bluegrass, honky tonk, folk and roots rock, Camp
stands as one of the most respected young artists in Nashville's creative community.
As a performer, a songwriter and an instrumentalist, he's an accomplished, triple-threat
artist whose easy-going demeanor doesn't obscure his ability to create lasting
music in a variety of styles and on any number of instruments.
Camp's breadth and the accessibility of his work is illustrated by how many country
music superstars have recorded his songs: He's written No. 1 hits for Garth Brooks
("Two Pina Coladas") and the duo Brooks & Dunn ("How Long Gone"), and his songs
have been cut by everyone from George Strait and Kenny Chesney to Patty Loveless
and Randy Travis.
Now Camp goes public with what Nashville already knows. On Live At The Station
Inn, his first album for Oh Boy Records, the Arkansas native takes an engaging jaunt
through his song catalog with some of the best young bluegrass pickers around
along for the journey. Recorded live and without rehearsal, the album is typical of
Camp - putting artistry and creativity on the line for a fun-yet-adventurous evening
of high wire acoustic music.
After having his 1993 debut album for Reprise Records largely ignored by country radio, Shawn Camp has since directed most of his attention to his songwriting
and has scored major cuts by Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, Diamond Rio, Randy Travis, and dozens more...
Shawn Camp’s high lonesome vocals are particularly well suited to his bluegrass leanings, and he triumphs here with some outstanding tunes, all of which he has
had a hand in writing. There are many special moments on the album but the very best are found on the more plaintive offerings like "Forever Ain’t No Trouble Now",
"Traveling Teardrop Blues", "Magnolia Wind", "The Guilt Was Gone" and "My Love Will Not Change"...
Shawn Camp’s Live At The Station Inn album is proof that musical magic can be achieved without all the bells and whistles, smoke and mirrors and a bank bustin’ budget… in Camp’s case it was a matter of a few phone calls to his pickin’ buddies, and rummaging through his guitar case for some of his recent songwriting notes.

Shawn
Camp has been one of my favorite musicians ever since I
first met him about fifteen years ago. I have always
thought he should be a star. He's got the talent, the voice
and the looks to do it. And along the way he has blossomed
into a class-A songwriter. Go, Shawn, go!
--Jack Clement
Shawn Camp sings, plays and writes up there in the fine,
rarified air where very few can breathe. It's a joy to behold.
--Guy Clark
I first knew Shawn as a fiddle player—and a good one, I
might add. Since then I found he is a great songwriter.
And when it comes to singing, he's a stylist, and Buddy,
I like your style. --Del McCoury
Shawn Camp has always been one of the most talented people
I've ever met in Nashville. This boy is a real bonafide
star, great singer, picker and songwriter. Nothing watered-down
here. If he was a drink, he'd be a whiskey straight shot,
no ice mixer. --Harley Allen
“My love will not change,” says Shawn Camp. He's not going
away. As a matter of fact, he's just coming on. And he's
coming to stay. Live At The Station Inn ,
on John Prine's Oh Boy Records, brings us a voice with a
past, out of the deep tradition, a voice with passion, humor
and honesty. Singing songs out of his head and heart written
with some of the best writers in Nashville, songs about
life now, life in the past, life always. Shawn's voice,
his playing, his writing all come together here with the
energy and clarity of a pure mountain stream. Stay with
him. He will stay with you.
--Jim Rooney
I was fortunate enough to not only co-write a couple of
these songs with Shawn, but I was also at the Station Inn
when they were recorded with an all-star band. Shawn continually
amazes me with his singing, playing, writing, and performing.
A lot of people are going to enjoy this album by this
gifted young man. --Paul Craft
